HOMESPUN MINISTRIES

Image
Homespun Ministries traditionally meets the 2nd Monday of each month from 2–4 p.m.

Homespun Ministries serves the Lord by prayerfully hand-making projects including prayer shawls, scarves, and pocket shawls. All congregation members and guests have access to these and are encouraged to give them to anyone struggling with life challenges (child-sized blankets, stuffed animals available upon request).

We work mostly from the comfort of our homes coming together monthly for group projects, planning, prayer, and fellowship time. Our projects support local and international ministries including baby items for Eyewitness for Life and Agape Help Center, adult hats and scarves for Foundations for Living, prayer shawls/lap robes for King Home, knitted knockers for local clinics/hospitals, and feminine hygiene kits for Orphan Grain Train and Jake’s Diapers. We are always adding, changing, and acquiring new projects! Any ideas?

Come and join us as we use our knitting, crocheting, sewing, quilting, and other crafting talents to serve the Lord by supporting, helping, and praying for others. Want to know more? Ready to get started? Contact Sue at ps1413.sb@gmail.com

WAUPACA'S BREAD BASKET PROGRAM

Waupacabreadbasket
At this time Bread Basket is serving carry out meals only due to Covid 19

Meals are available every Tuesday from 4-5 PM at the United Methodist Church in Waupaca. Stay in your vehicle and the meals will be brought to you.

Bread Basket is a community-based organization whose goal for 18 years has been to provide a free weekly meal to anyone in the Waupaca area who is in need. The organization is run entirely by volunteers using money received from grants and donations from individuals, churches, organizations, and businesses.   The 10 member board of Bread Basket along with a group of regular volunteers usually plan, cook and serve about 26 of the 50 meals served each year. The rest are handled by family groups, school classes/organizations, churches, community groups, and businesses under the supervision of the board members. Approximately 225-250 meals are made and served each week.

Guests at the meals are not required to fill out any paperwork or meet any qualifications in order to attend. All who come are served in a comfortable, friendly, and welcoming environment. They may choose to eat their meal there, or take it as a carry-out. When they are finished with their meal, diners may take an additional meal home with them.
